How can i receive medical marijuana?

hello, I have been recently diagnosed with anxiety which i thought i've had for many years now. i finally went to the dr. and sure enough i have it. However he wants to prescribe me pills, which i am not a fan of; even taking aspirin makes me weary. Something about taking a bunch chemicals made in a Laboratory somewhere makes me uneasy. I have smoked marijuana before and it makes me feel at ease, as if my anxiety is gone. Would i be eligible for medical marijuana to help with my anxiety? also i live in Connecticut in the united states. thanks for your help.
