I HAVE A PHONE EMERGENCY!!!?

ok so last night i was texing my friend and was kinda impatient for her to reply back cus i was so bored, so i decided to go through my phone. (its a new phone so yea) and i went to settings and stuff and just randomly statred pressing ons and all of a sudden my phone goes "SIM unavailable. please contact service provider". im kinda freakin out but all i wanna kno is, does this happen often? is it like a problem that can be fixed without paying and stuff?
