New US military wife- nesting?

My husband and I got married on March 6th, and on the 14th he shipped out to South Korea. He's a military policeman in the Air Force. Recently I've found myself perusing child-rearing websites and looking up baby clothes patterns (I knit and crochet). I'm not pregnant, I've been on the pill for several years and I'm a type 1 insulin-dependent diabetic so I doubt I'll conceive easily when we DO decide to start a family. I was just wondering if, under these cirstances, a certain amount of "nesting" is normal.
